The Lovely Maiden

In the embrace of the cold night,
She fell asleep.
The morning glistened on her,
Like the dew on a pearl.
She woke up,
To the call of the mountains.
Humming a tune of love,
She walked  into the Alps.

The day gleamed with happiness,
Like a playful little child.
The restless river flowed freely,
To meet it's final destination.
It saw her pass by,
Running swiftly to the Alps.

She was a maiden so pretty,
To petrify all the countrymen.
But in her heart she had only her chores.
She had to get up to the Alps,
As quickly as her feet took her.
Humming a tune of love,
She walked  into the Alps.
